Itch 12 inspiration came from my dear compadres at Barrio Manouche. From the percussion of Luchas y Esperenzas I built a beat from another time and space.

Itch 12 could be about a belly dancer having doubts on the meaning of life and eventually considering that at the end of the day it’s just like a long (of a certain time) melody that exists eternally once. When my son was ten, we found ourselves listening to Miles and I was telling him that in Jazz, the essence of the art is more often than not captured during the early takes. He looked at me and replied “ one take, one love “.
After recording the first soprano take (and only), I thought about that.
